Remembrance vigil held for dog killed by police

Memorial gathering was held for a dog that was killed by Des Moines police.

The 2-year-old Newfoundland called Rosie was shot week ago by an officer after she got out of her yard.

Officers claimed the dog was aggressive while they tried to get close to her when they her wandering in a traffic. They expressed, she growled and showed her teeth.

Remembrance vigil was held at 2 p.m. at 16th Ave South, between 268th and 272nd street in Des Moines.

Facebook page named Justice for Rosie has been created for the dog. Also, officials have been told to launch investigation in regards to the killing of the dog by Seattle Humane Society.
